About Family Connections

Based in Northamptonshire but covering all English and Welsh counties, we provide professional genealogy and family history research for those looking to discover their ancestry and bring the past to life.

Our founder, Peter, was for many years a quality control chemist with a degree in Chemistry, and is now a historian with a degree from the Open University. With an unusual surname that demanded to be looked into, he started to trace his father's ancestors over 20 years ago and reached his “brick wall” in 1695.

Peter is also very interested in local history as an active member of Thrapston Heritage, and is a past chairman of the Thrapston District Historical Society. He has a special interest in railways and has been researching the history of the now closed railway line that passed through Thrapston from Peterborough to Northampton. He also has been transcribing 19^th century police diaries in the Northamptonshire Record Office.
